The Journal of Island and Marine Studies (JIMS) is international peer-reviewed, applied research journal dedicated to exploring the legal, policy, political, economic, social, planning, and technical issues relating to islands and regional ocean on a global scale. The journal covers all continental areas across the world, and it discusses any island and marine subjects through various research methods from different perspectives; moreover, practical studies as well as theoretical works, which contribute to a better understanding of island and marine issues are encouraged.
Submissions to JIMS must contribute to the formulation and understanding of island and marine studies, and must be of interest to a broad audience of academics, stakeholders and officials. JIMS offers researchers, analysts, stakeholders and policy-makers a unique combination of analyses in the principal disciplines relevant to the management and development of islands and regional ocean. Focal areas include, but are not limited to: international, regional and national marine region and related islands; management and regulation of marine activities; conservation and use of marine resources; island and ocean governance.
